São Paulo, SP, 09 – A coletiva pós-título do Palmeiras, o oitavo de Abel Ferreira no comando da equipe, revelou um treinador mais aberto do que costuma mostrar. Depois de levar o tradicional banho de gelo dado pelos atletas – com Endrick na liderança do grupo – o português, ainda que tenha reiterado o desejo de preservar seu lado pessoal, brincou sobre o impacto do futebol em sua aparência.
“Estou com menos cabelo e com mais barba branca”, falou, ao comentar o insano calendário de jogos. Só em abril, entre Paulistão, Libertadores, Campeonato Brasileiro e Copa do Brasil, o Palmeiras vai disputar nove partidas.
“Tive arritmia no coração. Tive que fazer exames complementares. Nove jogos no mês é desumano. Temos que mudar isso. Temos que reduzir o número de jogos, humanizar o futebol”, suplicou. “O dinheiro não é tudo. Se o produto for bom, as pessoas pagam por ele, mesmo com menos jogos”.
No fim da conversa com os jornalistas, Abel, agora junto de Vanderlei Luxemburgo como o segundo técnico que mais títulos tem pelo Palmeiras, se declarou ao clube pelo qual já ergueu oito troféus. Apenas Osvaldo Brandão, com dez taças, ganhou mais.
“O Palmeiras é um estilo de vida. É mais do que um clube, é uma forma de viver, de estar. Os valores do clube coincidem com os meus. O que digo aos meus jogadores é que, enquanto isso durar, que a gente viva com intensidade”.
Ele também refletiu sobre seu futuro no clube. Seu contrato tem vigência até dezembro de 2023. A vontade do português é ficar, mas, como o futebol é dinâmico, não é capaz de dizer até quando vai continuar seu vitorioso trabalho.
“Gosto de estar onde querem que eu esteja. Já disse ao (ex-presidente Maurício) Galiotte, que este é o clube dos sonhos de qualquer treinador. O único defeito é que tinha um oceano de distância da minha família. De resto, é um clube top. Nós gostamos muito de estar aqui”, afirmou, citando a distância de sua mulher e filhos, que não existe mais desde o meio do ano passado, já que elas passaram a morar em São Paulo.
“O clube sabe. Várias propostas chegaram. Tenho um plano para mim, sabemos que o futebol é muito dinâmico. Tenho minha família aqui. Já fui muito egoísta com a minha família, gosto de estar aqui, mas o próximo passo tem de ser muito bem pensado. Mas não penso nisso agora. Felizmente tenho ganhado e as pessoas vão me engolindo. Faz parte do futebol”, refletiu.
